I didn't want them to fly all the way out here so that they could sit on my couch and play video games, so Shade and I came up with a list of things that we wanted to do with them. Even though they slept in pretty late each day (typical teenagers plus the time difference), we got out to do something almost every single day. Here is what we got to do:
Wednesday: Picked them up late at the airport
Thursday: Shiawassee park/river, Heritage park splash pad, free jazz concert
Friday: Greenfield Village
Saturday: Cleaned the church, Farmington Founders Parade, watched Catching Fire with Cocina Mexican food, Fireworks at Shiawassee park (we got front row seats, it was pretty sweet!)
Sunday: Church
Monday: Swimming at Walled Lake
Tuesday: We tried to go to the RedOaks Waterpark, but it was incredibly packed, so we ended up going to Belle Isle instead and went swimming there
Wednesday: Bronner's (Christmas store), Chicago Uno Grill (deep dish pizza)
Thursday: Detroit Zoo
Friday: We kind of took this day off so I could clean my house, but we played a couple games together, including Bananas (a word game), and went to Sizzling Sticks for dinner (we had a groupon)
Saturday: Cleaned the church again, Canoeing at Proud Lake
Sunday: Church, homemade pizza and breadsticks
Monday: Henry Ford Museum
Tuesday: Rio 2 at the Farmington Civic Theater, back to the airport :(
