10TH ANNIVERSARY!!

This year we got to celebrate being married for 10 years! That really did go by incredibly fast!

A few memorable things we have been able to enjoy/experience together:

• Skydiving near Zion's National Park while still engaged
• Backpacking in the Uintah Mountains (Utah) one week before our wedding
• Temple Marriage in St. George, Utah on August 7, 2004 (my parents divorced 2 months before) 
• Honeymoon in New Orleans, Louisiana
• First Anniversary in Park City, Utah
• Second Anniversary in Cancun, Mexico
• Study abroad in Cuernavaca, Mexico for 3 months (2007)
• Kellen teaching Spanish for a job
• Graduating from Weber State (me, BS in Health Administration) and University of Utah (Kellen, 2 BSs in Finance and Spanish) 
• Buying our first motorcycle (Honda Shadow 750cc, brown and black two-toned), driving 900 mile trip together through Utah and Nevada
• Moving to Michigan for Kellen's job at Ford
• Christmas vacation to Washington, D.C.
• Me going back to Nursing School (we sold our motorcycle to help pay for it)
• Kellen losing his job, then getting a better one at Bosch 2 weeks later on our anniversary
• Lake Michigan circle tour together which included Macinac Island (while I was 7 months pregnant with Shade)
• My dad's second marriage to Cheryl McMullin
• My dad's first major head injury in September 2008
• Shade being born on October 4th, 2008
• Me graduating from Wayne State, with a 2nd BS in Nursing
• My dad's second major head injury
• Me becoming employed as a Registered Nurse (full-time, weekend cadre, Oakwood Heritage)
• Family vacation to Chicago, Illinois (with Colby's family)
• Cheryl's untimely death from uterine cancer
• Family vacation with Shade to Cancun and Merida, Mexico
• Me dropping to part-time status at work
• First family vacation to Pictured Rocks National Park in the Upper Peninsula, Michigan
• Great Wolf Lodge in Traverse City, Michigan, for Shade's 4th birthday
• Homeschooling Shade for Kindergarten
• Olive being born on April 4th, 2013 (Shad'e half birthday)
• Our first family vacation to Luddington, Michigan
• My mother's untimely death from a car accident
• Expecting Baby #3 (due Jan. 1st 2015)
• Me changing jobs to contingent at Oakwood Dearborn
• Our second family vacation to Pictured Rocks National Park (Colby, Janica and Shauna came too, along with the cousins)
• And of course a lot of camping (Waterloo MI, Maumee OH, etc) and visits to family out west (Northern/Southern Utah, Ely and Carson City Nevada)

And to celebrate for our 10th Anniversary, we decided to try a closer indoor water park in Dundee, Michigan (Splash Universe). It was a family affair, but definitely fun. I even went down the "big" water slides with Shade (even though the signs said it was not recommended for pregnant women. Hooey). We also had a couple of nice dinners at Applebee's and a nearby steakhouse.


But, 10 years ago I decided to marry my best friend. Best decision I ever made! I only hope that one day I will truly deserve him, he is such an amazing husband and father. I am one very lucky girl!
