CHICAGO CITY

We got invited to go to Chicago city with Kellen's sister's family. It was their spring break. Whenever we go out to visit family out there, we always drive past the city of Chicago without stopping to visit it. Kellen and I went to see the city together right after we were married, about 6-7 years ago, but haven't been back since. This was a good time to take Shade to see the cool stuff there.

We only had a few days, so we got city passes to the museums. The FIRST day we went to

The Planetarium:

The kids found a vent on the floor very strong like a fan-wierd I know:

Astronauts:

Space toilet, bed:

City w/out lights/pollution, city for real:

Then The Aquarium:

Giant seacreatures, seriously-as big as my head:

Beluga whale show, jellyfish:

The SECOND day we went to

The Science Museum:

Shade's favorites: dancing (above), foating ball, zapper, hamster wheel:

Avalanche demonstration, real Submarine, tractor:

Then the "Sears" Tower (now the Willis Tower):

The seethrough skydeck:

And then Memorial Park:
Crazy silhouettes, Kellen pretending to be romantic :)

The Bean, the Amphitheater:

Marilyn Monroe tribute, Oh my! (2nd picture):

The THIRD day we went to

The Field Museum:

Gorilla, We got shrunk!

Sue the T-Rex, Elephants:

We had gotten a Hotel in downtown, so we were able to walk or ride the train to get to where we needed to go. It had a great view:

On our way out we stopped by Navy Pier:

Then we drove through The City back to the freeway:

Here are some extra pictures:

The city:

Adventures in Babysitting building, a real Prison downtown:

Kellen found this amusing:

Attack of the birds - they surrounded us when we sat down for lunch. As soon as we left, they scoured the ground looking for scraps:

Movie set-Chicago Fire (Episode 1):

Cousins, etc:

It sure was a lot of fun, but even more fun with family! Thanks for inviting us!
