My sister Jenny was nice enough to let us stay with her. She has 2 adorable daughters. And even though she had to work most days we were there, that was the most time I got to spend with her since we were teenagers. I'm glad we got to stay there.
My other sister Cristi let us borrow a vehicle, so we were able to drive ourselves around and weren't relying on other people to pick us up and such. But we got to see my youngest sister and her boys, and my dad (none of which were at the funeral). For New Year's Eve we all had a barbecue at my dad's house, and Shade stayed awake until the Michigan midnight (9pm Nevada time)! He didn't last much longer than that. My kids seemed to adjust okay to the time change, they stayed up a bit late but then slept in a bit later too. Olive did pick up something probably before we went out there, she had a fever for a couple of days, although it looked like she was pulling on her ear a little bit. Kellen gave her a blessing and I decided that if her fever didn't break I was going to take her to the doctor, but it went away. Unfortunately, it made her a bit more clingy and moody than usual. Other than that, it was so much fun to visit with everyone and get to spend time with them. Even Kellen had fun hanging out with Crisit's husband Marc - they even went shooting. And of course Shade loved all the cousins - and video games :)
