We finally decided to buy a house! We have been casually looking at the housing market ever since we moved to Georgia to kind of get a feel for what to expect, but we didn't really get into it until a couple of months ago. We were going back and forth between buying a house vs. just land and building - buying a new house vs. an older house with a bigger yard - being next to a water source - how much we were willing to spend - how much school district ratings mattered - how close to Kellen's job vs. getting a better deal - etc, etc. We looked at quite a few properties, but always found too much downfall.
But then we got an actual realtor through our ward, and she helped us find a house she thought would work for us (we had actually come across it on zillow.com, but didn't look at it too closely before that), and we became very interested. Forward a few weeks later, and we signed the final closing contract! We won't actually close on everything until the end of August because of our current rental lease, but we bought a house! First time in our almost 12 years of marriage! It is older (built in the 70's), but it was well taken care of (via inspection), and it is on 3.5 acres! Plus, it came with the 3.2 acres of forest next to it! Our kids are so excited! It is just going to be hard to wait until we can move in!
