SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - THANKSGIVING

Since Shade had a full week off for Thanksgiving, and I am not yet working, we decided to go somewhere fun - we do live about 3.5 hours from the East Coast, and about 5 hours from the Gulf of Mexico, both of which usually have gorgeous weather this time of year (if it's not raining). We chose to go to the closer location and check out Savannah, Georgia.

We got a decent hotel in downtown and planned to drive to the beach (Tybee Island is the main one in that area). They have metered parking at the public beach access, but it was cheap enough that we got to spend several hours each day we were there. And yes, the weather was PERFECT while we were there. The water was a bit chilly, but the helped keep the kids from wanting to swim in it, so that made it easier to keep an eye on them :)
Day 1

We saw Dolphins!

Day 2

We went on a "Historic Downtown Tour." We rode a trolley and got to see all the interesting history of Downtown Savannah.

We got to walk all around the shops of Savannah...

...and even ate at a real Pirate Restaurant.

We visited Skidaway Island State Park.

We got to play at the city park there - a gorgeous, fun place.
