So they have free concerts in downtown Farmington every Friday evening where they have a different band play a different type of music about every week through the summer. We went to one before - it was country night. Even though I am not a huge fan of country, it wasn't too bad. Although it was VERY loud. Shade got up in the front of the crowd with all the other little kids and shook his booty like crazy until he wore himself out and we went home early (Kellen was at scout camp that weekend). Well, I didn't realize until he had started dancing up in front that his pants were a bit too big (he really uses his arms and kept inadvertently lifting up his shirt) and his underwear kept showing. Oh well, I thought. Probably better than other things showing.
So yesterday we went to another concert. This one was jazz music. Again, Shade went crazy. Not a lot of kids were dancing up front - I guess the jazz music was much more mellow, but that didn't stop Shade from running up there and busting some of his signature crazy moves in front of the whole crowd. Unfortunately, I hadn't learned my lesson from last time and forgot to make sure his pants weren't too big, so his underwear was showing again. Then he found one of his best friends in the crowd (Eva) and ended up entertaining her and her parents for the rest of the show. He was being very goofy the entire time and kept putting the moves on poor Eva. Then at one point she went to the restroom with her mom. Shade then decided that he wanted to go to the restroom too, even though he had just gone with Kellen. There is only one bathroom (per gender) for the whold crowd, so we told him he didn't need to go. So he casually ran down into the crowd (as he had been periodically doing the whole show). We didn't think much of it, but then as I looked down to see where he was, I saw him in the middle of the crowd pulling his pants and underwear off and trying to pee on the grass!! I ran over there and tried to pull his pants up, but he didn't want me too, so I picked him up and carried him to the sidewalk. Most people were simply laughing. Hopefully we didn't offend anyone... ;) Well, I took him to the bathroom, but he only peed a tiny bit. Its kind of funny (and sometimes nerve-racking) how little kids want to copy each other so much!
On another note, Shade saw the picture of him dressed up like a girl today and said "I am shy of that picture." I asked him, "are you embarrassed of it and we should take it down, or can we show it to everyone?" He said "I am embarrassed of it." I didn't think he knew what that emotion was yet, and I don't know where he learned that. But maybe he will forget about that next time he sees it. So I am keeping it up for now :)

Hey Kathy! Sometimes I check out your blog through Tara's to see what fun things you guys have been up to :) hope you don't mind! Ours is locked, but if you want I can send you an invite to it! I have to say... that is one cute story of Shade, it made me laugh! And... congrats on the new job, that's awesome!!
Oh no! That story is a keeper. It reminds me how the other day I heard Aidyn calling "friend" out the window to all of the neighbor kids so I look to see what he's doing and I foind him standing in the window with no diaper or anything on calling out to his friends. A little later that day I was in his room with AJ and I hear him calling out to his friends again. I think "oh no" and came out to investigate, and sure enough, he had pulled his diaper off again and climbed up in the window to see his friends. He hasn't done it since.
But that reminds me of another time when Andy was playing video games with Shawn (I was gone) and then he heard Aidyn making some whimpering noises. So Andy looks over at the window and all he sees is Aidyn's little hands hanging on. He had pushed out the screen and climbed right out. Good thing we live on the bottom floor!
This reminds me of Aidyn's newest trick- opening the front door and using his ninja skills to sneak aw ay. Shawn, Andy and I were all cleaning up after a pest control guy had come and so we had the door open with the screen door closed to air out. Then while no one was looking Aidyn snuck out and silently closed the door behind him. Shawn was even in the same room vacuuming. I noticed Aidyn was being really quiet so I searched the apartment and he wasn't there. So we searched all over the apertments. I finally found him up some stairs talking to a little spanish girl through her screen door. He was calling her friend and she was calling him fuente. Not sure what that means.
But that's enough memories for now. Its fun having kids the same age. Aidyn loves watching all of the Shade videos.
