So we didn't know the area really well yet, so we decided to get some City Passes to see the main Atlanta sights. Kellen even took a couple days off so he could come with us.
ON MONDAY we picked them up from the airport and were able to catch up a bit that night.
ON TUESDAY, Kellen had the day off and we started off going to the Museum of Natural History. It was not very big, but had some cool stuff. They had dinosaur bones and exhibit, a human body works exhibit, cool seashells, a robot movie, and fun kids area. Afterward, we went to the Atlanta Zoo. It was smaller than other zoos I have been to, but it was wonderfully shaded and jungle-like, and they have elephants :) Unfortunately, it rained right before we made it to the "free rides" offered by our city passes, so they were closed down before we got to them. They had a train ride and climbing wall that looked fun, too bad.

ON WEDNESDAY, we tried to go swimming in a nearby lake since our apartment complex pool was still being "renovated." Unfortunately, two of the three nearby lakes don't allow you to make "bodily contact with the water." And the other lake is currently drained for "dredging." So we decided to just wade in the little pond by the drained lake. That is when Shade went in a little too deep when I wasn't near him, and he said he got his shoe stuck on a rock or something and went under the water. Luckily, there was an older man nearby who jumped in and pulled Shade out. After making sure Shade was okay and thanking the man repeatedly, we headed for home where I checked his lungs and Kyle and Kellen gave him a Priesthood blessing. What a freaky experience!

ON THURSDAY, Kellen stayed home with the babies while my brothers and I went to Six Flags! It was awesome to have some people to go with who could/would ride the big coasters with me. Kellen does not like roller coasters, and my kids are still too small to take on the fun rides, so I just never go. But not only was it awesome to get to go there, but we picked the perfect day and timing to go as well! The park was not very crowded that day, and we had mapped out our route beforehand about which rides we wanted to hit, so we managed to get in the lines before they got too long. The longest we waited for a ride was 20 minutes, which is pretty amazing since near the entrances of most rides they had signs that would say "90 minute wait from this point," etc. My favorite rides were the Tsunami Surge in the water park (where they have tubes made for 4 adult riders), and the Superman and Batman coasters. Batman was the best one, though, because it was SUPER fast! We were able to go on it twice, and the last time we all felt a bit dizzy, like if we were to ride it again we might pass out from the gravitational pressure. Awesome!

ON FRIDAY we took another chill day and mostly hung out at home playing games and resting. We wanted to go to Stone Mountain to see the fireworks show, but our car was having brake problems (recalled brakes...), so we were having them fixed. But at least Kyle and I got out on a bike ride on the trails behind our apartment.

Then ON SATURDAY we all started with the Aquarium. It was neat, but I've been to some pretty amazing aquariums, so I am somewhat biased. But they did have 2 awesome things: an underwater tunnel you could walk through to see sharks, fish, rays, etc, and an amazing dolphin show. The dolphins were super talented, the actors were pretty good too, and it was super wet and fun. That made the whole thing worth it! Afterward, we went to the Coca Cola Museum. It was interesting, but the best part was by far at the end, they have a bunch of soda dispensers with sodas from around the world. You grab a cup and get to try as many of them (as many times) as you want. Super fun!

Then SUNDAY came. Most of us went to church, at least the first hour, then we watched a movie together and then took the boys back to the airport. It was sad to see them go. We don't get many visitors, especially from my side of the family. But it was great that they were able to visit! Come back anytime! Please!!!
