Shade got to do real baseball this year! They actually start the kids pretty young in this league without the tee, so Shade is a bit behind skill-wise compared to other kids his age. But Shade seems excited to figure it out. Only problem is that the kids had a "try-outs" of sorts before the season started, and all the coaches got to "scout" out their picks and put their teams together. All the least-skilled kids (the ones whose parents are not baseball fanatics like us) got left to the last team because they were short one coach - and Shade got put on that team. So it looks like it is going to be a difficult season for wins, but hey - it's Little League! This is where they are supposed to learn how to play! But another plus about living down south - the season can start in late February, because there is no snow on the ground!
