BUBBLES, PUDDLES, SUBTRACTION

So I am taking Shade to his cousin's house for a week next week. Kellen is going to Germany for training, and there really was no way I could have taken time off (we are pretty short on staffing this next week with a bunch of babies being born, people leaving, and other people having requested vacation a long time ago). But Shade will love having other kids to play with all day every day. And so of course I have been trying to spend as much time with him as possible. Sorry house, but you shall stay messy until next week :)

It has been kind of rainy a lot lately, but we still found things to do outside. One of Shade's favorite things is splashing in puddles. One night we walked around our apartment complex splashing in every minuscule puddle we could find - the biggest ones are still right outside where we used to live (not the picture taken). We also found out something interesting - if you blow bubbles on wet grass, the bubbles don't pop! In fact, sometimes they bounce around a bit. And then you can pop them all at once by stomping around on the grass. We tried to blow bubbles in the puddles too, but they didn't stick around too long. But way awesome.

Also, contrary to what some may think, Shade doesn't do all his learning on the computer :) He really likes puzzles, crafts, etc, too. Today we did some math puzzles, and he started doing the subtraction (take-away) puzzles by himself! I was quite impressed since last time I was explaining it to him with each piece he did. It is quite fun to see how they just pick something up one day.
