MISC

A few miscellaneous things. 1)First of all, today I was asking Shade if he would like to help me pick out a card for his grandmas and he replied "and for you too." I asked why, wondering if he was associating it with Mother's Day, but he just said "because I love you so much."  !!!

2)Here is a turtle he made out of playdough awhile back:

3)Shade learned how to type his name:

4)So for me, working is a love-hate thing. I do like nursing. There have been times when I was able to help someone more than just give them a pill, and you could see the gratitude in their faces or hear it in their words. That makes it way better than selling cinnamon rolls :) And there have been times when I was able to prevent something bad from happening (why nurses have so much schooling and get paid the "big bucks"). Also, I do like working the days that I do-probably the least stressful shifts on the floor. And lets face it, I think one of the reasons Shade is so able to go up to just about any kid under age 12 almost anywhere and start playing with them is because he has had so much practice with daycare :)

On the negative side, I miss my family like crazy on the weekends. That is one reason I have been so grateful lately to be able to do a few vacations with them. And of course I do appreciate everyone who helped me make that possible (work, church, flights, etc). But I also feel like a zombie a lot during the week when I am off. Switching from nights to days is tough for me since I normally don't sleep well anyway. I am lucky if I remember something long enough to write it down :) Anyway, I know our future plans keep changing nowadays because unexpected things keep popping up, but I am very grateful to have a good job in this economy, and one that we could rely on if necessary. Even when it may not be the most ideal situation, there are hidden blessings everywhere.
