LAST CHICAGO TRIP, NEW NEPHEW

Our only close family is finally leaving us :(  Kellen's sister Colby and her family have lived near Chicago before we even moved to Michigan. It was only a short 5 hour drive to their house, so we were spoiled and got to see them usually a couple times a year. But they finally got sick of living in Illinois (high taxes, etc), and wanted to move elsewhere. The destination they picked? Atlanta, Georgia. So that is only about a 12 hour drive from here, but it is very unlikely we will be going down that way more than once a year as long as we live in Michigan. If we ever do make the move to South Carolina, we could live only 2 hours away from them. But that has yet to be seen...

So we decided to make one last trip out to visit them before they moved, and Kellen wanted to help them pack some stuff up if he could (I was still sick and pregnant, so I wasn't really able to do much). But also, lucky for us, Colby had her baby a few days before we went out there, so we got to meet him too! He was less than 7 lbs. Such a tiny little thing! I think our baby is already bigger than him, and he technically still has a month to grow!

We are sad to see them leave, but we feel really blessed that we have been able to see them so often, and we will actually have 3 kids the same age once our baby is born. But now at least we have a warmer place to go visit in the winter to get away from these darn Canadian wind drafts!

Here are a few pictures we took while we were there:

(The boys made a snowman with the wet snow, Olive loved swinging and jumping even though it was pretty cold outside, Shade kept getting his pants wet in the snow, we caught Asa smiling a couple times, and Shade took the time to read a book to his new baby cousin twice)
