So I skyped with my dad last night. He is doing sooooo much better! He recognizes us now, can hold a conversation, and was even remembering things (from many years ago to fairly recent). He still gets things mixed up from time-to-time, but he should be getting discharged from the hospital to a rehab program Monday. And from there, to home. Very soon. Awesome! It is really taking only about half the time for him to recover this time. But he is doing really well. He looks a lot better and his hair is growing back :)
My stepmom is doing pretty well also. The doctors have said she is currently "cancer free" but she still needs an occaisional transfusion. She sure has had a rough ordeal, but she sure has been strong through all of it. The gospel really does bring comfort in times of uncertainty. The power of prayer and the power of the priesthood are amazing things. How lucky we are to have those.
And thank everyone for all of your prayers and thoughts. We all appreciate it very much!

We've Skyped a couple of times with Dad since then, and the first thing he tells everyone (we had a get together of all us "locals") individually was "Guess what? Guess who I talked to?" Followed by Kathy, Kellen and Shade! (though not always by the right names...he always meant you) He really enjoyed seeing/talking to you. Ready for another visit? The wedding's coming up pretty soon now! :)
