Our Family, Bosch Team
This year we actually made it to the starting line before the race started, but we decided to let Shade run for as long as he would, so we didn't go up front. Shade ended up running about a mile. (Almost) everyone thought he was so cute and kept telling him how adorable he was, and how proud of him they were. Only problem was, he was having a hard time running in a straight line, so he kept running into people :) At one point he tripped on someone's foot and fell, but then he got right back up and kept running. Kellen said he would stay with us for the race, that this was our "family" run. So he pushed the stroller this year and kept my pace (about a 9-minute mile - not bad for not much training). Our plan was, near the end of the race, Kellen would run ahead to take pictures, and I would let Shade out of the stroller for the last 100 yards or so. But when I got to that final part, I stopped to get him out, and found he had fallen asleep in the stroller. I suppose getting him up at 6am to get there in time for the team's "meet & greet" was a bit much for him. But at least we remembered to bring the camera this year.

After the race, we decided to head over to Belle Isle since we were so close. Kellen also wanted to run a little bit more since we really only ran 2 miles. We let Shade run around and play in the water too. We didn't realize we had extra clothes in the car for Shade until we got home, but he didn't mind at all. We also didn't bring a lunch or anything, but we got enough free food (bagels, yogurt, water, bananas) that we had plenty to eat while we were there. It was nice.
