So, since we moved to Georgia, most things have been great. However, it was strangely difficult to get Shade registered for school and get our vehicles registered. We do like our new apartment. There is so much more space, with hard floors where we eat, and a long hallway the kids can run up and down in. The pool was nice after they finally finished "renovating" it, and we love having a playground right next to us. But we have also had a string of bad things happen to us since we've lived here.
First off, we keep our bikes out on the porch we have so we don't have to leave their dirtiness in the aparment. We have some hooks we can hang them on over the porch, but at first we just kept them down on the porch so it would be easier for me to get to them and put them back. Well, one day I noticed my bike wasn't on the porch anymore. I looked around and noticed it was on the outside of our porch leaning against a bush, with muddy tires and a flat back tire. Apparently, someone had taken it for a joyride but then brought it back when the tire got flat. At least they brought it back! We now keep them hanging with locks on them!
So onto number two. I already wrote about how we bought a very old and used golf cart, and having problems with it (needed new batteries, still wouldn't charge correctly, battery gauge didn't work, etc). Well, apparently if the golf cart is a certain brand, it has the same key as all the other carts of that brand. So Kellen noticed that someone had taken it joyriding a couple of times (at least they brought it back, but probably because it is not the most powerful motor, is old looking, or doesn't hold a charge very long). So to top that off, Kellen took the cart to the charging station to charge it one day, and when he went back to get it, he noticed that our charger was missing! Yep, it was stolen. However, since our charger was a 48-volt charger and the plug fits our 36-volt plug, it was a custom-made charger. So unless someone has the same golf cart situation as we do, that charger is NO GOOD to them! Kellen actually filed a police report and the police told them that unfortunately, whenever something like a golf cart is stolen, our apartment complex is one of the first places they look for it! Seems that even though Peachtree City is a really great, safe place to live, we happen to be in the "ghetto" of it.
And finally, to top it all off, my wallet got stolen! I don't even know from where or how, I just thought I had misplaced it, until we noticed some weird charges on our cards. That was the first time that has ever happened to me. I had had that walled since high school! It was kind of a pain to get that all sorted out, filing a police report and having to get a new license and all, but at least I didn't keep very many important things or much cash in there!
Hopefully, bad luck will stay in threes for now!
