TRUNK-OR-TREAT

Our ward had a fun trunk-or-treat tonight. It was good to give the kids' costumes a trial run before Halloween. Shade wanted to be a Ninja Turtle again, but none of his other TMNT clothes fit him anymore, but we found a shirt in his size that worked, although it was Michelangelo and not Leonardo. But Shade let me paint his face for this activity. I also used the more expensive paints so it wouldn't crack so much when he moved his face :)

Olive got to wear one of Shade's old pajama sets of Batman with a black skirt and was - Batgirl! She had a lot of fun wearing a cape and being a "super hero." But she absolutely refused to let me paint a mask on her face. But at least she didn't need it to be cute! And of course Eli went as a Tiger from the costume that Cheryl got Shade when he was barely a year old. Now all 3 of our kids have worn that for Halloween stuff!

So there was a chili dinner, games, a haunted room, and of course the trunk-or-treat. This was the first time Olive really started to understand how the whole Halloween thing works. She was so excited, she was jumping up and down and running up to the next car and sticking her hand in the pile of candy grabbing a piece as fast as she could! It took her awhile to catch on that she was supposed to say something in order to get a candy, but she really liked the action, the candy, the costumes, and the car decorations. I imagine Halloween will be a lot of fun for her this year!
