OLIVE MILESTONES - 6 WEEKS

A couple things I wanted to keep track of about my baby girl:

• Since Birth – She sneezes multiple times in a row, usually more than 3, as many as 8
• 7 Days – Started focusing on objects
• 12 Days – Lost umbilical cord
• 2 Weeks – Holding head up 10-15 seconds at a time, Started cooing, Back to birth weight (down to 8.15 by 1 wk), Really studying objects
• 16 Days – Let me cuddle with her without eating, sleeping, burping – just laid on my shoulder wide awake and comfortable
• 3 Weeks – Started sleeping 5 hour stretches through the night consistently
• 31 Days – Looked at me while I talked to her for more than just a couple seconds, 7 hour sleep stretch last night (although she didn’t sleep much during the day before)
• 33 Days – Started following Shade with her eyes and turning her head to keep focus on him (instead of just looking momentarily at him and shifting her focus to surrounding objects).
• 39 Days (5/13) – Smiled at me several times in a row, while looking straight at me – starting to figure her muscles out J
• 40 Days – Just noticed she can hold her head up all the time now, still a bit wobbly, but not floppy
• 5 ½ Weeks – When holding her on my shoulder, reaches arm around and “pats my back,” Moves her arms and grabs more than just a reflex now
• 6 Weeks – Actually looks at me and smiles – takes some prodding though, Coos and makes other sounds a lot more

Weight Changes

Birth – 9lbs, 11oz

1 Week – Down to 8lbs, 15oz

2 Weeks – Back to Birth Weight

6 Weeks – 11lbs, 13oz, Already gained 2lbs! Also grew half an inch!
